A prompt is the content you communicate to a generative AI tool in order to receive output. The output/results can be text, images, text summarizing, translation, problem solving and more. Learning how to write prompts effectively will help to ensure accurate and relevant results. Ineffective prompts can result in irrelevant output and waste your time.
Good prompts are CLEAR – the CLEAR framework was developed by Leo Lo, a librarian and professor at the University of New Mexico.1
