Black History Month 2024: Welcome


Welcome to our Black History Month Library Guide.  The theme for Black History Month 2024 focuses on “African Americans and the Arts”. This theme is infused with African, Caribbean, and Black American lived experiences. In honor of February being Black History Month, we are inviting you to explore the library's print and digital books highlighted on this guide.

Established by Carter G. Woodson, Black History Month was originally a week-long recognition of the achievements of African Americans.  To learn more about Carter G. Woodson and the origins of Black History Month, visit the Association for the Study of African American Life & History 

Africana Film Series @ ACPHS

The ACPHS Africana Film Series celebrates its 19th year next month! This year's theme is "Independence and Justice - Africa and Its Diaspora." Films will be screened in SC 201 at 7 pm on Feb. 6, 13 and 20.
